Northern Scotland

Dad went to the Northern part of Scotland and toured some sights and castles.

***Amanda's Engaged!***

Wow, it happened. Amanda is officially engaged! It's hard to believe...she's really grown up since graduation. Nick proposed today. He drove all the way here from Idaho just to ask for John's blessing (which i think is way cool). John took him out for breakfast (he arrived at 9:30 this morning) and they had a nice chat. Then he drove all the way back and took Amanda out for dinner and then a hike, where he gave her a book of poems. In the book of poems he had written one just for her. At the end it said turn the page and when she did, he had cut a small section of the book out, enough to hold her engagement ring!! So sweet and creative. Amanda was on cloud nine of course. They are possibly thinking to get married this spring, but nothing is for sure.

Scotland - Dad's Birthday and hike

Dad celebrated his birthday in Kilsyth, Scotland. He went to an internet cafe and was able to see and talk to Mom and Steve, Eric and Nikki, Brenda and Jonas, and me and Kassidy. It was fun to see Dad as well. The next day he and Jim Miller went and hiked to the top of Ben Lomond. It took them about 3 hours to hike up. They met a fellow hiker, Ruth, and she suggested they hike the otherside to go down. It was steeper so it took them still another 3 hours to hike back down. It was a beautiful view he said.

Lindzi crawls!

it's official...She crawls

Lindzi has been scooting, rolling and half crawling all month long ... and finally she has put it all together and learned to crawl!! It's exciting and cute, but now she will be into more trouble faster. Well, I guess it had to happen sooner or later.

I put this pic twice because my scanner kept having issues ... on the top one Lindzi's face is elongated and on the other one, mine is. My scanner kept getting caught in a certain place.... so i turned the pic over that's why it is that way. oh well.

Brenda and Amanda's Birthdays

We celebrated Brenda and Amanda's birthdays today. Brenda is 24 and Amanda is 19! We had it at the park again this year... that location works out very well. Brenda's in laws were there as well as Amanda's boyfriend, Nick and Amanda's best friend, Ashley. John was even here to enjoy the festivities. Brenda had a "cake" of chocolate covered strawberries and they were delish! Amanda's cake Desi made and I decorated it. It was a fun time.

Scotland

My Dad is in Scotland right now doing geneology and seeing the sights. He is having a great time. We talk through skype on the computer most days. Here are a few pics that he sent.

Kassidy starts kindergarten!

Kassidy is growing up!

Wow... it's official. Kassidy is in school now. She's a kindergartener. Now for 2 1/2 hours I only have Lindzi is at home! Today was her first day! She enjoyed it.

Nine month shots

Well she survived! She only had to have two shots and she didn't cry too much... so i'm very happy about that. She weighs 19 lbs and 3 oz. and is 27 1/4 inches long. When i looked at Kassidy's book to compare I found that for some reason she doesn't have a nine month weight. Only an eight and a half one and a ten month one. At any rate, Kassidy's weight for 8 1/2 months was 18 lbs and 15 0z so just shy of 19 lbs. Her weight at 10 months was 19 lbs, 8 1/2 oz. So Lindzi and Kassidy are still on the same track with weight.

She's nine months!

Wow, nine months have come and gone! I took her in for pictures today and they turned out pretty cute. Lindzi wasn't smiling as well as she could though... she's in the stranger danger phase of life. She has two teeth now, she barely got her second one a few days ago. Tomorrow the dreaded shots and check up. I'll post her stats on that tomorrow. We'll see how she compares with Kassidy at nine months.
