Crazy Christmas '08
Well to start off I'd like to say that i am very grateful for all that we have and i know that we are very much blessed. That being said, this Christmas had just a bit more to be desired... let me explain. Christmas started off with two kids having croup the night before and into Christmas day. That was Brooklyn and Kassidy.. with Kassidy having the worst of it. We had to wake up around 6:00 Christmas morning because Chris had to work a short shift at 7:00. So the girls were tired mostly because they didn't feel as well. Normally waking up early for Christmas wouldn't phase them. Kassidy even went back to bed after we opened presents. Then Desi said her stomach was really hurting a lot. So she spent Christmas morning trying to open her presents laying down on the floor. Her stomach hurt her all day and by mid day she was throwing up! And not always making it to the toilet.. so that leaves me to clean up throw up on Christmas... not really what i had in mind. Then to top it all off who wouldn't want a fun filled trip to the ER to spice up the holidays?? Well Lindzi decided to try and pull a plug out of the socket. She pulled it out partway and then got a good shock when she touched the exposed plug with one hand and the other hand on a tv cable right next to it. She screamed and i grabbed her up and saw what had happened. It kind of freaked us out because i've never had a kid get shocked before. Her hands were a little red and we were worried about what effects it had on her so we decided to have her checked out at the ER to be safe. So that's what we did. They did and EKG to make sure her heart was fine. They said the household electricals usually won't seriously hurt someone. Lindzi checked out just fine and did exceptionally well when they did the EKG. When we go home she napped and when she woke up she was her normal little self. So we feel very blessed that she is ok. Later about 11:30 ish John got called into work. So that was my Christmas in a nutshell. Everyone is mending now slowly... and Lindzi now has a cold. Lets hope the rest don't catch what Desi had. Cross your fingers, but don't hold your breath! Check out our graham cracker houses!

911

Yesterday evening after an especially crazy day, lindzi decided to top it off just for good measure. I had just put her down in the living room and was trying to help kassidy, when the phone rang. It was Weber county dispatch. Apparently lindzi had called the police! I told them everything was fine and that it was my one year old that had called. Then i had to verify my name and address. She told me she would call the officer enroute and let him know the situation. Well about 10 minutes later the officer shows up on the door a little after 9 pm. Apparently they are still required to go to the house and make sure everything's fine. So that's how that ended. Needless to say I need to keep a better eye on the phones and not leave them lying around at lindzi's eye level. Crazy end to a crazy day.
