Braces....

Well we bit the bullet and got Desi some braces. John really wanted her to get them. I was on the fence, because the main reason she needed braces was for one tooth that was growing too far back in her mouth. It was a side tooth and not way noticeable. It didn't really bother Desi either, in fact she didn't even want braces. She has heard plenty from other friends who have braces. And for me it was a lot of money to spend for basically one tooth.... i mean there would be other benefits too, not just the one tooth. But still it was hard to put that kind of money down for mainly one tooth. It will cost 3100 dollars and that's after insurance!! Yikes...... well i hope it's all worth it in the end.

Happy Back to school day to all the moms out there!

Kassidy and her bff Camille.... but sadly they are not in the same class.


Desi and Lexis had a late start for the first day of school... they didn't have to be there until nearly 11, so they got to go to BK for breakfast.








It's that time of year again!!!! Yay to only one child at home again!!! Yay to less fighting (hopefully)... and hopefully a cleaner house! Boo to driving to and from school everyday, but Yay for carpool to help out with that. Boo to homework and school related stress...... Boo for Lindzi being upset that her sisters are at school, let's hope she adjusts quickly. And Boo for the cost of putting them back in school, plus school lunch went up this year. Well let's hope it's a good/fun year for the kids!

Vacation: Day 8 Going home

Kyler, Kaden, Desi, Brooklyn, Kassidy, Lindzi and Hailey

Well we started out the long drive home around 5:45 am. And it was a long drive. We stopped in the tri cities to say hi to some of our Washington cousins. But it was a quick stop and we didnt get to see D'Angelo. :-(

Brooklyn and Hailey are the same age... only 3 weeks apart... but they are not the same size :-)


Then on to Uncle Eric's house in Caldwell Id to say hi and hang out. The girls had fun playing his guitars and John and Eric played a couple of games of pool. Originally we planned on spending the night there, but decided to go all the way home to sleep in our own beds. It turned out a good choice because only a couple of hours after getting home, John got called in to work!! Yikes.. the sleep deprivation has to suck at times. We got home shortly after midnight.

Vacation: Day 7 Lighthouse

Well Mom and Dad left for the Tri Cities early in the morning to visit the washington grandkids. And we decided to check out the Admiralty Head Lighthouse in Fort Casey State Park. It was about two hours away. I wished we had more time to check out some other lighthouses in the area, but they were nearly two hours away in another direction. So we had to settle for one this time. It was a really pretty one too!

We had lunch at a nearby park and then headed back to the condo to relax and then pack up.





One last swim in the pool is a must!!

Vacation: Day 6: Lynden and Plover Ferry

these first four pics are some of the pics from the museum that we visited, but somehow i forgot them and they are out of order. The pictures don't do the place justice.. it was a very good museum... Anyway on to the rest of the post.......

Well we started the day off by going to a little town nearby called Lynden. This was by chance that we decided to go there and i was glad we did. I saw a post card the day before in the lobby about Lynden. It looked like such a cute little quaint dutch town that i wanted to go there. It was only about 15 miles from where we were staying. We went there and it was very cute. We loved the mural in town and all the windmills. There was a cute little "mall" there with some cute photo ops. Then we went to the bakery shop and had some huge doughnuts! Yum! Then we checked out the museum and it was a very nice museum that didn't cost us all we had. And this museum seemed to go on and on with more rooms and undiscovered areas! It was worth the money we paid. They even had a little book that each child got and could put an ink stamp of a picture at the various places they saw in the museum! The kids loved it!

After lunch we went to the local marina to ride the historic little plover ferry. It can hold 17 people plus the two crew. It was a fun experience. The captain let all the kids who wanted to have a turn at driving the ferry! They all loved it! The ferry dropped us off and was scheduled to come back in an hour. So we walked around and took some pics by an old boat. Then we walked around the little beach and the girls picked up shells. Then we caught our ride back and saw the sea lions sunning on the docks.
