Santa Fun run and Parade!!!

We went to the Santa 5k fun run/parade. Dad and Steven participated. You have to wear a santa hat and beard to participate..... some wore full santa suits! It was a sight seeing hundreds of santas running! After the race, we watched the parade and then went to Gandolfo's Deli for dinner. It got a bit cold after a while, but we were all pretty bundled up.... but we all still had a great time!

We had a yummy Thanksgiving!

Well it worked out nicely..... We were all able to enjoy Thanksgiving together... the ones that live here locally anyway. Originally we were planning on driving to Idaho to John's Dad's house. Unfortunately, John ended up in Elko NV coming home on the train Thanksgiving day. Usually we have Thanksgiving around noon, but this year Amanda had to work until the afternoon, and Brenda and Nick wanted to take Jonas to the zoo, and with John on the train we decided to have dinner at 5. It worked out well since everyone was able to come! Other exciting news... Brenda gets to find out if baby number 2 is a boy or a girl on Monday. We are all very excited to find out- so stay tuned!!!

Lindzi's fort

She likes to go back here and pull the cupboard door like that! I already had to fix it because of her... look close and you can see the break line newly glued!

Our first real taste of winter...boo hoo!

Saturday brought us a little bit of the "white stuff"... enough that we had to shovel. We got about four inches. Luckily it has warmed up a bit since, so it's just a preview of the winter to come. I am not exactly ready for the winter, but who is? The kids had some fun playing in it though. I also just added a picture of Kassidy that i took today of her with her snowman. She made it herself with just a little help from Daddy to lift and put together the snowballs!

Homemade Pumpkin Pie

Well I unintentionally bought this pumpkin at Halloween thinking it was the cheap 9 cents a pound carving pumpkins.... then found out it was a sugar pie pumpkin...... and it cost as much as the biggest jack o lantern I bought. I decided I'd better use it up and make a pie with it. I have never made a pumpkin pie from an actual pumpkin.... so i found recipe online.

I cut it in half and scooped the goop and seeds out first.

Then I steamed the pumpkin for 30 minutes.

Then after scooping the soft pumpkin from the shell I pureed it in the blender.

Finally.... the finished product!!! I didn't make the crust myself.....a little too much work. It was delicious!

I'm lovin' fall!!!

we didn't get much done... but we had a lot of fun!

I am really loving fall this year!!! The colors have been so beautiful and the weather for the most part has been nice. We did have a storm in the end of october, but it was short lived. I know there is supposed to be another storm coming in tomorrow, so i know the nice weather is coming to an end soon, but it has been so nice lately. I am really enjoying this fall.

Fabulous Fall pics!

it's so yellow right now... but that won't last much longer.

here she is sneaking that bink back in her mouth...

here's our yellow tree!

love this red bush in front.

it's been so warm lately that we still have a few flowers blooming out here.

Well fall has been lovely this year... and we have been enjoying some great weather lately. I have some pretty fall colors right in my very own front yard right now. I thought I'd better take a few pics while they are still so pretty. So Lindzi posed for me while the girls were in school. I kept having to tell her to take the bink out of her mouth.. then after the pic it would go right back in.
