Thanksgiving

We tried a new thing this year for Thanksgiving. First we all went to Brenda and Nick's house for appetizers and American Idol on the wii. We had a good time. Brenda took some 1 year pics of Lindzi before that. Then we all went to Mom and Dads for the main meal. Darin and Jeff were already there as well as Darin's girlfriend, Diana. This is the first time i got to meet her. She is a very nice girl (sorry i didn't get any pics of her or Darin) Then after playing a game of pay day and visiting, we went back to my house for dessert. We had pumpkin pie, pumpkin roll(John made the pumpkin roll.. it turned out very tasty), banana bread and peanut butter bites. It was yummy! Then we played apples to apples. It was a fun time for all.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving this year. I hope everyone enjoys family, friends and food! I am thankful for all the many little comforts that we enjoy, like freedom, electricity, peace, family, health, good friends and neighbors. Happy Thanksgiving!

The girls' new dresses

These are the girls' new dresses. Usually every year, the girls get new dresses at Christmas... well this year they get them early because they are for Amanda's wedding. Amanda is going with the colors red, white, black and silver. When she decided to go back to those colors, I knew exactly the dresses I HAD to have. I had seen them few weeks before at JCPenneys, but at that time, we were going with the colors blue, ice blue and silver, so i knew they wouldn't work then. But now with the colors back, i knew the dresses I wanted. I looked online and the bigger sizes were all unavailable, but when I called the store, they still had the bigger sizes. Unfortunately they didn't have the infant size I needed anymore. I had to order Lindzi's online and now I have them all... aren't they sooo cute?!

PS. It looks like Lindzi's 1 year pics will have to be postponed. I was planning on taking her to the studio on Tuesday, but it doesn't look like that will work anymore. Her owie is now more purple and doesn't look good at all. :(

Lindzi's boo boo

Why do kids always seem to get a nasty looking owie right before pictures! It never fails. Well yesterday the 21st, Lindzi was playing beside the bed on the floor. She somehow fell and hit her face on the bed frame where the box spring mattress sits. It bruised immediately and swelled a bit too. It was sad. I was planning on taking Lindzi in for her 1 year old pictures on Tuesday so hopefully it will be less noticeable then.

practice cake

ok I'm experimenting/practicing to make Amanda's wedding cake. Now, I have never done a wedding cake and this is only the second time trying fondant. So it is literally an experiment. I want opinions. What do you think? This will be going ontop of a tiered cake stand pictured below. I'm planning on filling the tiers with silver foiled cupcakes and also hanging beads from the tiers.

also what do you think of this other topper? I'm not sure which I like the best. Well it's a work in progress..... so let me know what you think. Thanks

lindzi's learning to walk

She officially took her first step on Nov. 6th and now she is doing a lot better. I think she'll be cruising by her birthday!

Lindzi is 11 1/2 months old now...wow almost 1! She is starting to walk and will take 3 or 4 steps. Here are a few cute pics. She will still try to eat her toes on occasion. How do you like her teeth brushing method?

A few of Amanda's engagement pics

Here are a couple engagement pictures. Unfortunately, my scanner always seems to make lines on the the scanned image. I don't know why. Anyway, Amanda and Nick had planned to get married in April, but now they have decided to get married in December! Mainly because Nick has pretty much all of December off of school. Also Amanda plans to go to school in January, so she want to be married and settled before school starts in January. The date is set for December 20th, so we are planning on a winter/snowflake theme, with the colors being silver, ice blue and royal blue. It will be beautiful.
