Chris is in the Airforce... almost
Chris has signed up to join the Air Force. I can't believe he's practically grown!! He'll graduate this May and then on June 9th he will head out for Texas for training. The training lasts 8 weeks. Yesterday he went to Salt Lake with the recruiter to take his ASVAB test and physical. He did really well on his ASVAB. He scored an 85... not percent, but a score of 85 which apparently is a very good score. He wants to go into special forces. He needs to pass certain physical requirements first. So we'll see how it goes. We are very proud of him even though it makes me nervous. I know he'll do great!

Kassidy

I have discovered that Kassidy really enjoys building puzzles. She put together one the other day with 100 pieces. That's pretty good for a five year old. At least I think so :) Anyway, she'll just pull one out of the cupboard and start putting it together and next thing I know, she's about got it done. Good job Kassidy!

Fun with the Gate
For some reason Lindzi likes to bite the gate. She thinks it's great fun. She'll hook her two bottom teeth on the wire and then pull them off. It's an interesting obsession she has.

Here Kassidy is joining in the fun to see what she's missing out on!! Or just humoring her little sis.

Lindzi's illness

Well Lindzi, unfortunately has been sick lately. It started last Thursday night. I noticed she seems a bit congested. Well Friday she was congested and had a fever. The fever was around 101 -102 so it was miserable. I took her into the after hours clinic on Saturday night because i was concerned it was an ear infection or worse. Well that was not pleasant. Lindzi was not happy and they took a long time to get to us.. it was like the ER. When the dr did come in, he looked in her ears and throat and listened to her lungs and said he didn't see or hear anything and to just treat the symptoms! Well we went home thinking it would get better sooner than later. It didn't. John stayed home with her on Sunday since I am in the nursery and we are short staffed in there as it is. She got more congested and developed a bad cough. And her fever persisted through Monday. She was pretty miserable and it was difficult for me to accomplish my daily tasks with her. Not to mention all my worrying and sleep issues at night! I called and talked to the doctor on call Monday night and he told me that if it was RSV they could only treat the symptoms anyway. So it was useless to take her in again to get an RSV test. It seemed like her fever was lessening anyway by about Monday too. By Tuesday and Wednesday she didn't have the fever anymore thank goodness and Wednesday started acting like her old self again. She is still recovering and has a very snotty nose and cough, but they too are lessening thank heavens!! On Wednesday she started eating solid foods again... the picture is her with chocolate pudding. She insisted on feeding herself. I was just happy she wanted to eat something. Unfortunately, now it seems that I have caught her nasty cold too. Only it is not as bad as it was for her.... it's harder on the young ones. It also looks like John, Desi and Kassidy also are getting cold symptoms. Bummer. We'll see if Brooklyn and Chris hold out or not.

John and Chris' Trip

John and Chris took a trip to Solvang, Ca. It's an early senior trip for Chris since he'll graduate in May. They went in January because that's when John had vacation time off of work. They drove down Sunday night and stayed in St. George. Then they headed to Las Vegas for the second night and played around in Vegas for a day. Then they drove to Solvang California. It is a little danish town. It was very beautiful. They really enjoyed it. They went to Knottsberry farm in Buena Park, Ca on the last day and had a blast! They didn't take the camera into the park because it was "too much of a hassle to carry it around all day." So unfortunately I don't have any cute pictures from there. But they had a great time all in all. They drove back Thursday night and got home at 3:00 am!! I'm glad they made itback safe and sound.

Happy Birthday Jeff!
We had a birthday dinner for my youngest brother, Jeff, last Saturday. He is 21 now. Unfortunately he didn't feel the best that evening and couldn't really enjoy the dinner much. Hopefully he'll feel better soon. Happy Birthday Jeff!

Binky Thief

Yes Lindzi is a binky thief! But in her defense, it was her binky. We had just given it to her cousin, Vincent, because they had forgotten his on the trip. Anyway it was so cute and funny.. she just reached in and took it and put it in her mouth!!!

Amanda's Reception
We had a reception for Amanda and Nick here on January 10th. It was a lot of work, but well worth it. It turned out very nice and we all had a good time. The weather cooperated too. I made another cake for the reception. We served the cupcakes, chocolate dipped candy canes and hot cocoa with marshmallows.
