Well we had a fun and eventful trip this last week. We left on a Sunday and came back on a Sunday (today). We drove down to San Diego, CA ... it took us around 13 hours with stops etc. We spent the night and the next morning we boarded the Carnival cruise ship, "Elation". It was a five day cruise that went to Cabo San Lucas Mexico and Ensenada, Mexico. The girls really enjoyed this cruise. It was very smooth sailing.. which I love... you hardly felt it. This is my 4th cruise and it was the smoothest by far. We had fun exploring the ship, playing mini golf, swimming, shopping, watching the show and eating of course!! The first dancing show wasn't the greatest though... it didn't hold the girls or my attention and some of the costumes were a little too revealing... so we only watched part of it. The other dancing show was a lot better thank goodness. This is our first time sailing with Carnival, so there were a few differences. John liked the food selection and quality better on the last 3 cruises we've taken (Royal Carribbean and Princess) I agree that the Alaskan cruise had better food... but it was also so cold on the Alaskan cruise that you didn't want to really go outside. The girls loved to go and get soft serve ice cream for dessert which they did multiples times a day! It was nice to dress up some evenings and go to dinner. The waiters were very fun... they learned the girls' names by the first night. We took some family photos that turned out very nice. Lindzi was a people magnet big time! So many people commented on how cute she was and would call her little princess. On formal night, we dressed up and everyone commented on how pretty/handsome everyone looked. On the last night the girls dressed in mexican dresses and sombreros that John had bought, in Ensenada. Everyone enjoyed that sight too!! We got off the ship on Saturday and went to Sea World to see Shamu and friends. It was fun, unfortunately, we had to rush through with the long drive ahead. We still were able to catch most the shows... we saw the shamu show, the dolphin show and the sea otter show and elmo's 4D movie. It was fun. The drive home was long and tiring... since we drove through the night. We were glad to see home at 5:30 am.

That looks like a lot of fun. I've never been on a cruise, but I've heard they're pretty neat. It looks like your kids all had a good time, too.

We're glad you had a good time on vacation. I've enjoyed looking at the pics and seeing how the kids (especially Lindzi) have grown. Sorry I missed wishing you a happy birthday... We sure love you lots!
